Beautiful in every season. Our advice: Mid-september at sunset to dive in warm waters and find no crowds.

HOW TO GET THERE FROM ROME


BY CAR

Using the "Aurelia" statal road, taken right outside the historical center near Vatican City.

Option 1)  remain on Aurelia for all the journey: no tolls, but watch out for the many speed cameras at 80-90 km/h limit;

Option 2) After 20km on the Aurelia, take the E80 highway towards Civitavecchia and exit at "Santa Marinella / Santa Severa" after 27km. The toll amount is of 1.2€. Here the google Maps route from Rome center to the castle.

BY TRAIN

From the "Roma S. Pietro" train station, take the train towards "Civitavecchia" and get down in "Santa Severa" after 6 stops (40 minutes ride). The ticket can be bought in the station and costs 4.1€.
